Sherwin-Williams Chooses Park City Group’s Store Level Replenishment Solution

PARK CITY, UtahFebruary 11, 2009 – Park City Group (OTCBB: PCYG), which recently acquired Prescient Applied Intelligence,  has announced that Sherwin-Williams, the nation’s largest specialty paint retailer, is implementing Park City Group’s Store Level Replenishment (SLR) solution to reduce inventory and improve service levels in their more than 3000 store chain. SLR is a store ordering solution that optimizes store level demand forecasting to help determine when items are in need of re-ordering at a particular store.

Henry Stallworth, Sherwin-Williams IT Manager stated, “We had outgrown the in-house ordering system we were using, and after considering our options found Park City Group SLR to be the ordering solution that would best fit our needs.” Sherwin-Williams has been a Park City Group customer since 1996. They have now expanded their Park City Group relationship with SLR.

The system identifies real consumer trends, seasonal patterns and promotional lifts, and incorporates those elements into Park City Group’s forecasting engine.  That information, combined with visibility into on-hand inventory and shelf capacity, is what produces accurate orders and keeps product on the shelves, minimizing or eliminating out of stocks.” 

Park City Group SLR consists of three major components:  a powerful forecasting engine, an inventory planner, and replenishment ordering logic. 

  • Park City Group’s forecasting engine determines future demand, generates base and promotional forecasts, and detects seasonality and trends.
  • Park City Group’s inventory planner calculates perpetual inventory, determines optimal safety stock, and monitors daily activity at the store level.
  • Park City Group’s replenishment ordering logic considers the forecast, inventory levels, and optimal safety stock and automatically calculates accurate order quantities for each item at each store.
