Park City Group Solutions Provide Swedish Match with Efficient Supply Chain & Cost Savings

PARK CITY, Ut. – March 4, 2009 – Swedish Match, a leader in smokefree tobacco products, cigars, pipe tobacco and lights products, has announced the impressive results they are seeing using Park City Group’s (OTCBB: PCYG) Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Enterprise Supply Chain Planning solution for enterprise forecasting.  Park City Group, which recently acquired Prescient Applied Intelligence, provides innovative solutions and services to retailers and suppliers that increase sales while simultaneously reducing out of stocks, shrink and inventories.  

Swedish Match has been a customer of Park City Group since 2000, when it was approached by a major retail partner, a Mid-Atlantic grocery chain, and asked to manage their own inventory in the retailer’s distribution network. Since the initial implementation, Swedish Match has expanded its VMI program with Park City Group to include three key retail partners. With each of those retail partners, VMI has provided quantifiable results through reducing the number of shipments with accurate replenishment orders and decreasing lead time by taking control of the ordering process.

In 2007 Swedish Match also began to use the forecasting tools of Park City Group’s Enterprise Supply Chain Planning solution. They found a need for a solution to help their North American manufacturing facilities predict and manage demand for cigars.  They were confident the success they had seen with Park City Group’s VMI forecasting functionality would also prove beneficial for their enterprise – and they weren’t disappointed.   Forecast accuracy has improved significantly.
