Aunt Millie’s Bakeries Sees Significant Time & Cost Savings Using Park City Group’s Scan Based Trading & DSD Data Synchronization

PARK CITY, Ut. – April 1, 2009 – Park City Group (OTCBB: PCYG), which recently acquired Prescient Applied Intelligence, today announced the impressive results achieved by the supplier Aunt Millie’s Bakeries, a Park City Group customer for over eight years, has seen significant time and cost savings with a large Midwestern retailer through Park City Group’s Scan Based Trading (SBT) and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) data synchronization. SBT is a process which enables the bakery to maintain ownership of its inventory until it scans at point of sale, while Data Synchronization adds another layer of visibility with item, price and promotion synchronization. Park City Group’s SBT has allowed Aunt Millie’s to better manage its business and proactively identify and resolve issues that normally take a long time to identify and resolve.

Aunt Millie’s and its retail partner use Park City Group’s SBT platform as a collaborative foundation for managing their SBT relationship, ensuring both parties are fully aware of new items, cost discrepancies and promotions through the use of DSD data synchronization. The new item notification and acknowledgement allows Aunt Millie’s visibility that a product has been accepted and set up in the retailers’ system, which means that it can be delivered to stores without errors or invoice discrepancies. Often retailers are slow to manually set up new items in their system. If set up has not occurred the item will be rejected at the back door, which impacts sales and routing, and adds additional time to the process.

Cost discrepancy reporting and promotion notification has also allowed Aunt Millie’s to resolve issues proactively. They successfully avoid incorrect costs and promotions, which can impact the retailers’ margin and/or promotion volume and promotional lift. Additionally, invoice discrepancies have been eliminated through use of the Park City Group SBT solution saving time and labor hours for both Aunt Millie’s and retailer. Visibility to perpetual inventory at shrink levels by store level is also provided by the Park City Group solution allowing Aunt Millie’s to closely monitor shrink and identify issues at route level more proactively.

These processes have resulted in a noticeable shrink reduction. Both supplier and retailer have increased visibility to shrink count, which ensures the retailer is never blind-sided with a large shrink bill, and allows for a quicker realization and resolution of the causes of shrink. “Our retailer partner has fully embraced SBT with DSD data synchronization, moving past the false assumption that the supplier has total control in the SBT process. What they understand is that with Park City Group the process permits for a comfortable trading partner relationship by allowing both parties more visibility to price and item authorization. Park City Group enables us to manage ahead of any problems as opposed to after the fact, and that provides significant time and cost savings all around,” commented Donna Gross, Aunt Millie’s Director of Scan Based Trading.

“Both parties commitment to the process is easily seen in these impressive results,” added Randall K. Fields, Park City Group Chairman & CEO. “Our SBT solution has allowed Aunt Millie’s to spend more time focusing on important issues, like the causes and resolution of shrink, while eliminating more mundane operational issues. Retailers and suppliers who embrace a collaborative SBT relationship with Park City Group can easily gain similar results.”
